I like your point about LinkedIn revolving around your professional career.

I've seen some people have outstanding success with LinkedIn in terms of traffic growth.

It surprised me, so I had to start to pay attention.

I've considered this, not for my general purpose blog, but for my collection of specialized blogs, but haven't done it yet.

Ironically, two of the recommendations for my day job are from people who know me from my general purpose blog, so perhaps I should reconsider.

Very thoughtful, I never thought of singing up at linkedin because I was not aware of the networking power there, I basically use FB, myspace, and twitter as well, but will sign up on linkedin now too. By the way you have a nice blog going on here. Very good info to grasp on.

I added louisgray.com to my LinkedIn profile at the beginning of 2008, after two years of active posting, once I figured it was important enough to feature alongside my work efforts.

The first endorsement came as a surprise, and got me thinking it would make sense to ask my peers to do the same. I find it a lot more valuable than just selecting the blog as a "favorite" in Technorati, for example.

I wasn't even really aware of LinkedIn until a couple weeks ago. I'd heard the name, but didn't pay it any attention. I signed up last week, I think, but haven't done much with it. It certainly does sound like a very powerful networking tool, one with a little more... integrity?... than Facebook or the like.

Interesting thought, as I used LinkedIn a lot in my offline business. Trouble is I can't mix the two up for anonymity reasons, so I'm going to set up a new LinkedIn profile for this later ego. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for the tip!
