David Risley: How To Explain Blogging To Granny

  • ses5909 · 2 years ago
I recently experienced this when I visited my parents who I hadn't seen in a few years. Back then I had one blog and it was more of a hobby blog. But Now I blog several places, run a community for bloggers, and spend my time reading blogs. This was hard for them to get. They are both businessmen/women though so I brought it to their level.

I do enjoy David's blogs and I appreciate the importance of a headline that will get people to click, but it would be interesting to know if anyone has any stats for those bloggers who are over 50. You can be a Gran and Grandad and still be ahead of the game.

I have a background in marketing, have been blogging for just over three years This year I will be 62. My two sons age 32 and 29 don't blog. I teach referral skills to business people of all ages, working with BNI and online with Ecademy and I find that 60+% of my audience are only just waking up to blogs and their power to raise an individuals visibility ad credibility.

My current task is to explain Twitter, but thanks to David, I at least have a manual I don't have to spend time writing.
