David Risley: 25 Random Things You Probably Didn’t Know About David Risley

I can relate, I was a loner in school my self. I was a bit shy, actually that's an understatement. By the way, I'm totally stealing your list concept and using it for my about me page.

    Great post dude!

Got me thinking of doing a similar one.

Hope you're having a good day, and speaking of fishing (#18) ... I am actually heading out in the boat now to catch some fish... ;)

    Talk with you soon dude,

For a guy smart enough to switch to a Mac, how come you still spell "yours" with an apostrophe?

Gina, they thought I was the smart kid in school. Doesn't mean I actually was and doesn't mean I'm an expert on grammar. ;) I guess its more "shoot from the hip" blogging.

    I'm a professional proofreader, so I can't help it!

It's normal not to see your own mistakes. It's a well-known fact that even proofreaders need to have someone else proofread their copy.

Good one! Strangely enough I've just been "tagged" by another blogger and had to write seven things people don't know about me. Will post it later this evening. Also a diver, have a boat, have been known to commit the odd apostrophe crime and really want a Mac. Major difference is cars - I've had over 100 - yes really!

Dave you have excellent musical taste: Jazz is amazing music!

Although I thought Vista was a massive dissappointment and sucked bigtime, I never left Windows: I just carried on using XP and still do to this day on my 2 PCs.

(I'll be building a third one to run Windows 7 on; but I think I'll wait for RTM before I do.)

Ya know, Chick Corea is on FB.

Yeah, Dave, doubly smart: Mac and jazz. You're nearly perfect!

Dude we totally have to go fishing off the old skyway pier. If you like crab I have a 20ft net and snag them all night out there.

Just found your blog and this was a great intro post to start with. Interesting guy. I love jazz too, and recommend Gonzalo Rubalcava (sp.?) a Cuban jazz pianist, if you can find a track online and give a listen. Looking forward to reading more!

Re #14: You could always go libertarian? Read some Austrian economics and you'll never turn back...

Most Mac people don't like pants. Just a thought. Great list - something every blogger should consider doing for something like their "About" page.
  • David · 9 months ago
Matty, my main writer over on PCMech.com (Rich) does something like this on his About page on his personal blog. Although I think he lists like 100 things. :)

Yeah - I kind of thought it might be the type of thing a person could continually add to. Start with 25 or something, make the title "25 things... and growing" or "...subject to continual updates"

Posts like this are fairly common on Facebook, where I have an account. I was wondering whether I should write one. A part of me thinks that it is off-topic in my niche. However, OTOH, sharing this info might allow fans, friends, and prospects to better connect with me.

What was your motivaton behind making this post?

Thanks for sharing, David, (you seem like a down to earth kind of guy), especially "Politics in general just sucks now. It accomplishes nothing and just makes things worse." I couldn't agree more! Beautiful daughter too... you are so right :-)
